Each image in this series replays an iconic scene from art history, from Toulouse-Lautrec to Manet, from Hopper to Hockney and beyond. But here, the figures step out of the paintings and back into our present, saturated with artificial light, contemporary clothing, and awkward gestures.

The frontal glare of the flash replaces the softness of the brush, the setting empties out, the gazes freeze. Art doesn't die: it repeats itself, every day, in new poses, new copies, new simulacra.

"Another Day in Art History" questions the persistence of images and the way our collective imagination still takes shape, in a bedroom, a garden, a party, or a swimming pool.
